Coaching Requirements

MINIMUM COACHING CERTIFICATION STANDARDS FOR COACHES

Please review and read carefully to ensure you meet all qualifications to be on the bench, deadline to complete certification and register in RAMP is May 15, 2025.  Coaches without proper certification will not be permitted on the bench or floor.

Coach Certification (must be 16 years old) 

Coaches can take one course per season

First year coaches must start with Community Development          

U7-U13 Coach Requirements

  • Community Development     
  • Making Headway in Sport
  • Rule of Two
  • Emergency Action Plan     
  • Current VSS Police Clearance (valid for 2 years)   

If you attended a course in 2019 to current, you will show IN TRAINING on your NCCP Locker Profile

This is a known issue with Lacrosse Canada and the NCCP locker. You are considered trained if this is showing on your locker.

U15-U17 Coach Requirements

  • Competition Introduction 
  • Rule of Two
  • Emergency Action Plan
  • Safe Sport Training
  • Mental Health in Sport          
  • Making Ethical Decisions             
  • Making Headway            
  • Current VSS Police Clearance      

Trainers - must be certified with a recognized ‘First Aid Course‘ (ie: St John‘s Ambulance) or can be a registered nurse or doctor.
