LLA Registration Update
Dear LLA Members,
The ALA registration opened on December 1. On behalf of the Southern Alberta Lacrosse Association (SALA) Local Governing Body and the Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA), I would like to clarify the registration options for players wishing to participate in minor lacrosse this upcoming season. While the opportunity for minor players to take part is still available, it will look a bit different this year.
- LLA Recreational Lacrosse: If you wish to register with the Lethbridge Lacrosse Association (LLA), you are welcome to do so and will be able to participate in recreational lacrosse programming. When you register for recreational lacrosse, you will have the opportunity to participate in practices, scrimmages, and skill-building sessions, but please note that this program does not include SALA league games, Provincial Championships, eligibility for Team Alberta selection, or participation in tournaments.
- SALA League Participation: For those in the LLA and surrounding region who wish to play in the SALA league, SALA Sting A program, or ALA sanctioned play such as Team Alberta initiatives you are free to register with any SALA-affiliated club.
- Brooks Lacrosse Association
- Chief Mountain Lacrosse
- Medicine Hat Lacrosse Club
- Taber Lacrosse Association
- Potential Resolution:Should a resolution be reached between SALA and LLA prior to February 28, 2025, all players currently registered with SALA clubs will be released back to LLA for continued participation in our programs.
We understand this may be a time of uncertainty for some members, and we are committed to providing clarity and supporting you as you navigate your options.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to president@southernalbertalacrosse.com. Please note that only emails addressing genuine concerns or questions will receive a response.
Sincerely,
Sarah MacKenzie
President
Southern Alberta Lacrosse Association
